The Real Katrina

We've all been barraged by images on CNN and elsewhere of the human devastation that the abject response to Hurricane Katrina caused. However, most of those images were sanitized at the behest of the Louisiana state government and FEMA officials. I found an incredible set of images that, at least in my mind, convey something that seems a little closer to reality than those recycled images and footage of black folk standing outside the convention centre. These stills are infinitely more powerful.
